Got the Bánh Cuốn Hà Nội, Xiu Mai, duck breast pho, the chicken wings, and some pork belly recommended by the waiter. Excellent service, great recommendations, heated patio was cozy and comfortable. Banh Cuon Ha Noj (9/10) was delicious! Highly recommend, the format of building your own wrap and getting a bit of everything was fun! Rice noodles part was just a bit mushy and too soft. Xiu Mai (10/10) was amazing and flavorful. Baguette was perfectly toasted while still being soft on the inside. Just wish it came with more baguette for ratio to the meatballs. Duck Breast Pho (8/10) has a really strong smell from the bamboo shoots. If you haven't smelled it before or aren't sure if you like it, I would recommend you get something else. I like bamboo, but this was a lot even for me. It's definitely a more adventurous pho but the duck was super tender and delicious! Came with cabbage salad on the side, which was a bit too spicy for me personally, but was pretty yummy! Wings (10/10), amazing and perfect. If you take away one thing from this review, it should be that the wings are amazing.

Seattle, Capitol Hill. July 2024. This place is a fixture for Vietnamese styled food, on the downslope of 12th Ave leading to the International District. It is across a corner edge of Seattle U and is easy to find. Just keep in mind this is not the down and dirty kind of pho shop with cheap prices and straightforward food. The restaurant has a comfy interior with regular tables, hightop counters, an outdoor patio, and a full bar with seats. There no longer is a bakery case but some items are still available near the front. The food is put together nicely with flavors and colors standing out. If all you want is a bowl of pho, you may find it good but a little pricey for your taste. You can also get a banh mi, but it is not where the restaurant shines. Ba Bar is more about taking simple Vietnamese street food dishes and making them shine for American palates. If you go on a weekday they have a nice list of $15 specials that should make your happy. Sundays looks like a good time to bring your dog with you to the outdoor patio and get comfy with a weekend cocktail and a bunch of dishes. The bar has a nice listing of good brown liquor and the house cocktails are creatively named and nicely balanced. One thing that keep this place from being at the top of the lists for Vietnamese food is inconsistent service. It doesn't look like anyone in charge is always on the premises and that can give the staff free hand to do as they please. That means service can be spot on, non-existent, or anywhere in between. Keep that in mind when comparing this location to the other ones around the city.

This is a great lunch spot for my mom and I post doctor's appointment. As soon as we sat down, I ordered a bag of the pork floss mochi cookies that I saw on the counter. I've seen pork floss in buns at bakeries, but not in cookies, so I was instantly curious. It was a soft cookie with a chewy mochi center and not too sweet. We ordered the vermicelli noodle bowls: Combo and the Rockfish. I like that each dish comes with an imperial roll, which are delish! We had to ask for more fish sauce though. We also ordered the caramel sauce wings, which were flavorful and crispy. I know it's good when my mom says 'we can come here instead of going to dim sum' - read: she's already planning our next visit. Service was friendly and helpful. We got there before the lunch rush and was able to find parking easily nearby.

Ba Bar has a unique take on Vietnamese food or what I would describe more as Asian fusion. The restaurant has a very open floor plan and was packed with people which made it feel fun and youthful. We put our name down for a large party, but the wait was surprisingly only 2-3 minutes. Even more surprising, our food probably came out within 5-10 minutes of ordering it. The papaya salad was light and refreshing, a nice complement to the curry dishes. I really enjoyed the sweet potato laksa which had a red curry base. My favorite dish was the Ba Bar green curry which the waiter said was vegan (hands-down best vegan curry I've ever had). The eggplant side dish had a unique taste, but I would not order it again (hard to compare to the insane flavor of a Chinese fried eggplant dish). The Saigon Singapore noodles were a classic dish but lacked flavor. You can't go wrong with the imperial rolls! Overall, I gave this place a 4 because the two curries and papaya salad were so good. Also, the staff were speedy and very polite.

I can't get enough of this place and the variety of soups they have! My favorite here is the duck confit ramen noodle soup! The broth is just so tasty and rich in flavors! I ask for my duck leg to be extra crispy and I don't know how they manage to keep the inside moist and tender, but they do! Their Saigon Wings were also a great, but not quite as tasty as San Tung's from back home. Everyone there were pleasant, offered great suggestions and seemed to like the interactions with their diners. We went during the early afternoon so we got to just relax and enjoy our conversations because the place wasn't crowded. The eclectic vibe was w perfect atmosphere for a relaxing afternoon. Will definitely continue to come here!

I came here to get lunch with some friends. We were in the mood for some soupy foods and we're not disappointed. The interior was nicely decorated and would bea great place to hang out with friends over cocktails. I got the oxtail pho which was a very interesting addition to a pho dish. It gave the broth a great flavor. Overall I had a good experience, but it was a little pricey. I liked the concept that they were trying to achieve which is Vietnamese street food. But I do think you can get the same for less at other places.

The perfect place for some cozy food on a cold, rainy night! I came by with a friend a couple nights back, and we were seated pretty quickly despite not having a reservation. Our server was extremely friendly and accommodating and made sure we had enough time to pick our options. As I am weak for rice, I decided to go for the Cơm Gà Hội An, while my friend went for the Pho Ga. Service was insanely fast, and our food was out in no time. The food was absolutely perfect. The rice was flavorful, the chicken was tender, and the veggies complemented the whole meal so well. My meal came with a side of broth that really made the whole thing feel so cozy and warm. Plus, there was actually quite a bit of food overall, and I had some left over! Overall, I had a really great time and will definitely be back!

Ba Bar is a solid option, especially in South Lake Union where solid lunchtime options are more rare than other poppin' areas of Seattle (Capitol Hill and Fremont). The atmosphere was buzzing and smelled of tasty Vietnamese eats. We were seated kindly and promptly, and the waiters recommended some of their favorite pho when we asked what was good to try. I got the famous wings and they were a little overly sweet for me. I wish that there was more spice, pepperiness, and savory flavor. Next time, I'll opt for the pho, which was rich, aromatic, and flavorful. Vietnamese food done well is a surefire path to a rewarding culinary experience and Ba Bar does not disappoint.
